Lasik is a 5 minute painless procedure to reduce ones dependency on eyeglasses and contact lenses. A flap is created with a microkeratome blade on the surface of the cornea, and lifted. The excimer laser is then used to contour the inner cornea in a customized fashion. The flap is then returned into position and dried on the edges. The flap seals in place without sutures, the patient receives post-operative drops, and the surgery is finished. The patient is able to see immediately. This video, performed and narrated by Dr. Michael Kay will lead you through an actual Lasik case performed recently on one of our patients.
